Naomi, 22, bulimic for 5 years, participant of Project 2020
“Naomi is a religious girl who does not believe in God. When she tells me her story, I can understand why…
She is the youngest in an orthodox family. On the outside everything looks ok, only nothing is. With out looking at me, she tells me that in addition of her dad being violent, he used to sexually harass her and about a mother with severe eating disorders and a complete naivety about her father’s doings.
Since that there is no awareness to eating disorder in the orthodox society, she tells about times when she found escape in food and gained a lot of weight and about the violent and humiliating attitude she received as a result.”
